Finding the appropriate nationwide training locations was the first step. MicroTek provided a visual presentation of facility coverage that allowed DaVita to plan training exactly where it needed to be located. "Working together for three days with the MicroTek delivery team at our headquarters really helped to give the DaVita training team the ability to see how we could help them deliver the training," said Bill Taylor, MicroTek's president.
Having recently implemented an instructor solution, MicroTek helped DaVita Determine how many trainers were needed and developed a train-the-trainer plan. While the company had a small experienced cadre of DaVita trainers, it had an enormous need for a veritable army of DaVita software trainers. Long known for their demand for high-quality training, the DaVita staff worked closely with MicroTek executives and project managers to ensure that DaVita's cultural knowledge would be integrated into the contract instructors training. During phase one, MicroTek and its partner interviewed, contracted, and trained 110 instructors in a three-month time frame on both the software and what they would or could see at the dialysis centers.
