MicroTek Ranked Number 449 Fastest Growing Technology Company in North America on the 2004 Deloitte Technology Fast 500

Oakbrook Terrace, IL, November 1, 2004 - MicroTek today announced that it ranked Number 449 on the 2004 Deloitte Technology Fast 500, a ranking of the 500 fastest growing technology companies in North America. Rankings are based on percentage revenue growth over five years, from 1999–2003. MicroTek grew 368% percent during this period.

Don Slivensky, MicroTek’s CEO, credits growing development of on-demand training facilities and services with the company’s 368% revenue growth over the past five years. He said, "as the economy improves, there is an increased need to train employees and software users in a high-tech environment. Because so many training and event planners are being asked to do so much more now, they look to us to manage the logistics of their events, so that they can concentrate their efforts on educational content development."

"Growing the top line enough to make the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 is especially meaningful during tough economic times for the technology sector," said Mark A. Evans, national managing partner of Deloitte’s Technology, Media & Telecommunications Group. "We congratulate MicroTek on becoming one of the 500 fastest growing technology companies in North America."

In addition to ranking on the Deloitte Technology Fast 500, MicroTek ranked #9 on the Chicagoland Technology Fast 50, which is a ranking of the 50 fastest growing technology firms in Chicago. Winners of the 18 regional Technology Fast 50 programs in the United States and Canada are automatically entered in the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 program, which ranks North America’s top 500 fastest growing technology companies. Fast 500 Selection and Qualifications

The Fast 500 list is compiled from Deloitte’s 19 regional North American Fast 50 programs, nominations submitted directly to the Fast 500, and public company database research. To qualify for the Fast 500, entrants must have had 1999 operating revenues of at least $50,000 USD and $75,000 CD for the United States and Canada, respectively; and 2003 operating revenues must be at least $1 million USD or CD.

Entrants must also be public or private companies headquartered in North America and must be a “technology company,” defined as a company that owns proprietary technology that contributes to a significant portion of the company's operating revenues; or devotes a significant proportion of revenues to the research and development of technology. Using other companies' technology in a unique way does not qualify.
